THE LIBERTARIANS in the United States: Sociology of an asocial movement

This book of 309 pp. is the by product of  Sebastien Carré’s PhD; dissertation and was published in French in 2010 by the Presses Universitaires de Rennes.

If the libertarian movement did not translate in the political field, it gave intellectual weapons to supporters of environmental classical liberalism, including many think tanks which advocate Free Market Enviromentalism, By the way several of its representatives made conributions to our ICREI international conferences and seminars in Paris and Aix in Provence since 1995 such as John Baden Richard Stroup, Terry Anderson, Leonard Liggio, Lynn Scarlett…

This book surveys an important intellectual  field which has no equivalent in France, if not through little coordinated initiatives of Liberals such as Alain Madelin, Philppe Nemo, Henri Lepage, Pascal Salin, Guy Sorman, Jacques Garello…

Read especially the few pages describing “A case study: the influence of think tanks Libertarians on environmental policy”.
