“Liberty and the Environment” by Ronald Bailey

Ronald Bailey discusses the compatibility of liberty and environmental conservation though “the orthodox view among ecologists is that human liberty , more specifically economic activity and fee markets, is to blame” not to speak of overpopulation.

Facts demonstrate that only affluent countries with rule of law protect and improve their environment though countries with weak or non nonexsitent democracies are poor and destroy environmemental resources.

Top down bureaucratization as well as centrally planned economy failed . The idea of worldwide environmental planning will also fail and destroy both resources and liberty. The aim is to protect both liberty and the environment.

Not easy to implement in France where prevails top down bureauceacy and preference to “égalité” over “liberté” .
