In January 2019, Christian Buson has been elected as ICREI’s new president. This paper (in French) published in the Spanish journal “Recursos Rurales” illustrates his deep knowledge of Free Market Environmentalism and its scientific background. The title of his contribution sums up his concern: “Is Ecology a confiscated science?” As a matter of fact, one can observe a growing capture of scientific ecology by so-called “ecologists” in order to set up new political agendas aimed at transforming the society at the cost of suppressing rule of law and individual liberty and property rights.
No doubt that President Buson’s scientific background, as well as his experience as the founder and manager of an important consulting firm for environmental assessment, will open new perspectives to ICREI. Our new motto is now: “Legal, economic and scientific imagination for the environment.”
