“The rational optimist, how prosperity evolves” by Matt Ridley, 2010 Harper Perennial, 448 p. is a great book largely circulated worldwide by a famous author who was a scientific journalist for “The Economist”. The document attached sums up the main ideas. Among them the fact that the media, like human mind, is interested in pessimism – which by the way is an easy tool to extract charity money especially for environmental causes!
Ridley coins the word “Apocaholics” who are clever for exploiting and taking profit from the natural pessimism of human nature.
Do read this book. Its message is that of catallaxy, i.e. innovation through the exchange ideas.
